Hi, I'm Sarah.
The modern food world is a frustrating place, filled with confusing labels and highly-processed convenience foods. We know we should be eating better, but figuring out how feels like an impossible quest. I know because I've lived it. And don't even get me started on the wonderful world of social media when it comes to health information!
As a PhD-trained microbiologist and nutrition coach, my mission is to cut through the noise and show you how to navigate the chaos. Through online courses, coaching, and books and blogs, I believe that healthy eating isn't about perfection; it's about empowerment—and a whole lot of common sense. Science teaches us 'why and how' things happen, but no one seems to be translating that into usable common sense actions
I love science, but I also love that humans have figured out a lot of things for themselves over the generations, I believe there is a sweet spot where all this comes together and you can enjoy eating and feel better without having to understand what every molecule is doing!

What is Health & Nutrition Coaching?
Perhaps you've heard the term "coach" and wondered if it's "just another one of those fads." Health coaching is gaining traction, but at its heart, it's a powerful, person-centred approach that helps bridge a critical gap. In fact, professional coaching is now a recognised role even within the NHS, for its proven effectiveness in supporting people through complex health challenges.
The truth is, while nutrition science has delivered incredible breakthroughs – revealing the profound importance of the gut microbiome for everything from hormones and mood to weight and immunity – knowing what to do is very different from actually doing it. How do you apply complex scientific insights about your unique gut bugs to your busy family life, perimenopause, or the unique challenges of neurodivergence like ADHD?
That's where a coach comes in.
Think of me as your personal guide and accountability partner. My role is to help you:

About Me
I’m Sarah, and my mission is simple: to make gut health genuinely simple, practical, and affordable for busy families and individuals like you.
My journey here is a blend of deep science and real-life experience. With a PhD in Medical Microbiology and two decades in research, I've spent countless hours studying the very bacteria that call your gut home! This scientific rigour is balanced by my training as a qualified Nutrition Coach.
I also know what it’s like in the trenches. I’ve personally navigated gut issues, grappled with mental health challenges, worried about how to feed everyone on a budget, and learned first-hand how profoundly what we eat affects how we feel.
And as a busy parent on a budget, I absolutely get that eating well shouldn’t mean spending a fortune or surviving on expensive "health foods" like green powders and acerola cherries. Supermarket trips shouldn't feel like a choice between health and affordability.
That's why Gut Science Wellness is built on real-world, science-backed nutrition that is actually USEFUL! My goal is to empower you to nourish your body, manage your family's health, and transform your well-being – all without adding stress or breaking the bank.
